2021 February Pastors' Conference

2021 February Pastors' Conference/ Special Birthday Celebration of Her Honor, Mighty Princess Onyinyeomachukwu Divine-Gift Samuel Hezekiah

The ceremony was conducted by His Grace, The Most Rev. Prof. Daddy Hezekiah (MFR,JP), The Anointed Prophet of the Most High God, Founder and Leader, Living Christ Mission Inc., at the Administrative Headquarters of the church in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria, on Sunday, 28th February, 2021. His Grace began by pleading with everyone present to exercise patience in order to receive God's blessings.

Prof. Daddy Hezekiah advised the pastors and church workers using the book of 1st Samuel chapter 1 verses 9 to 18. He encouraged pastors to avoid praying so loudly as that would disturb neighbours. Hannah didn't do such when she prayed yet God answered her (ref: v 13). He added that the only time Christ raised his voice while praying was when he wanted to raise Lazarus from the dead hence, we need to emulate Jesus. A noisy prayer is not necessary because God is so gentle that he understands whatever you have in mind.

His Grace also made made the following points:

  • A pastor should not deviate from God.
  • A pastor should not give the wrong judgement.
  • A pastor must not judge based on outward appearance.
  • A pastor ought not to be crooked minded.
  • A pastor should not have a short-temper or get angry easily.
  • A pastor must not be easily moved to curse.
  • A pastor should not be arrogant.
  • A pastor should be patient.
  • A pastor should have the fear of God.
  • A pastor should be interested in the things of God.
  • A pastor should not transfer aggression to innocent church members.

If you are a pastor, no matter how rude you are, do not attempt using your rudeness when it comes to God Almighty. Anything that concerns God must be handled with humility. Whenever you feel too big towards the affairs of God, it means your downfall is near.

In the bid to clear the air on the issue of taking alcohol as Christians, the International Mayor of Peace read 1st Corinthians chapter 11 verses 17 to 22. Verse 17 condemns the act of an individual consuming the drink or food meant for all. Daddy advised that it is wise to take your share so others can have theirs as well. Do not despise the church of God or humiliate those who have nothing because of your position. He added that if you must take alcohol for any reason then you have no right to take it in public places (such as burial or wedding ceremonies) but your home.

Also, he read 1st Timothy chapter 3 verses 8 to 9 to show that Deacons and workers in God's vineyard should not be addicted to much wine. He reminded his children that the Bible NEVER said, "do not be addicted to much stealing, fighting, lying, killing, fornicating, adultery etc.", but the Bible was firm with the instruction not to do them. Not being addicted to much wine helps in protecting the image of the church.

Concerning Paul's instruction on drinking wine to Timothy, His Grace read 1st Timothy chapter 5 verses 22 and 23. He advised that not everyone should lay hands on your head neither should you lay hands on everyone you see. This is to avoid participating in another man's sin.

Daddy Hezekiah asserted, though Timothy was a bishop and a son to the Great Saint Paul, yet Paul could not heal his ailment. God is his own interpreter and this ought to inspire us not to get disturbed over any slight issue. If any of your prayers are yet to be answered by God, there is a reason. Medically, some persons need alcoholic drinks such as stout for their ailment. Therefore, it is not bad to take alcohol but do not misuse it or take it publicly as a pastor or church worker. To give his stand on drinking alcohol, the Anointed Prophet of the Most High God went on to read Proverbs chapter 23 verses 29 to 35.

Making reference to verse 30, he clearly stated that mixing different alcoholic drinks undergo chemical reactions. He opined that the negative effect of drinking alcohol is great hence, if your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away (Reference: Matthew 28: 8b). And the worst thing that may happen to you is drinking while driving or driving while drinking. It is very dangerous because it could lead to accidents that may be fatal. Being addicted to alcohol takes control of your life instead of you to control it. Adding saccharin to your alcoholic drink sweetens it thereby giving you the urge to go on drinking without knowing you are consuming volumes of chemicals. Reading verse 30, His Grace, categorically stated that drinking alcohol is not a sin but at a stage in your Christian walk, you do not need to take it. Also, he pointed out that Chinua Achebe was correct when he advised newly married ladies in "Things Fall Apart" to add 'yeast' in alcohol since it helps them in childbearing.

Furthermore, Daddy Hezekiah advised those who suffer from severe ulcers or stomach ailment not to taste coca-cola. But if it isn't severe, they should pour the coca-cola or malt in a tumbler to let go of the gas. Fanta or Sprite is preferable. Avoid bitter leaf or ukazi leaf because they are hard vegetables and take more spinach.

He went on to say that those who take much alcoholic drinks have sexual urges, leading them to fornication or adultery. Most of them see strange things according to verse 33. He read Proverbs chapter 30 verses 1 to 6 to encourage the pastors not to add or subtract anything from the word of God because "Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you, and you be found a liar." (Verses 5 and 6) He read Proverbs chapter 31 verses 1 to 9. If you want to be a strong pastor, "Give not your strength to women, your ways to those who destroy kings." ( Verse 3) According to verse 4, though it is not bad to take alcohol, as a king or ruler do no take it. Give it to those who are perishing.

NOTE: There are 2 types of wine, strong wine (wine with a little percentage of alcohol, eg. red wine) and ordinary wine (wine with much percentage of alcohol eg. Whiskey). In conclusion, he read 1 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 23; “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful; All things are lawful, but not all things build up", and 1 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 12, “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; All things are lawful for me, but I will not be enslaved by anything". Therefore, do not be enslaved by taking alcoholic drinks or anything that is not suitable for you as a pastor or Child of God. You cannot stop taking alcohol by your strength so ensure you pray to God. Avoid local gin (kaikai) because it is 100% spirit.
